Harlum was founded to raise standards in offshore wind and demanding industrial environments. The business brings together practical operations, health and safety leadership and major-project experience to solve problems that are often accepted for too long.
Founders Harry Taylor and Calum Brown grew up together on Teesside and began their careers in operations within the steel industry. It was an early lesson in the realities of high-hazard work: standards have to be practical, roles have to be clear and people need the right conditions to do the job safely.
Both gained NEBOSH qualifications and moved into health and safety roles. Calum developed experience in lifting and heavy transport, including work with ALE. Harry supported major energy-from-waste projects with SUEZ. Their careers later came back together at Siemens Gamesa, where they worked on offshore wind projects across the UK and Europe.
That combined experience gave them a clear view of the pressures faced by developers, contractors, site teams and technicians. Harlum was created to answer those pressures with solutions that are useful in the real world, not only convincing on paper.

Facilities
Harlum supports product development, prototyping and controlled manufacture from its UK base and dedicated facility at Riverside Park, Teesside. Keeping engineering, manufacturing, documentation and aftercare close together gives project teams a shorter route to answers and reduces the gaps that can appear between supply and long-term support.
